Dinner with Ben Folds

A couple months back, Meghan found out that one of our favorite artists was going to be playing a show... The one and only Ben Folds!
The show she found was going to be in Bozeman, MT (which is actually near BFE, MT) So we made a nice relaxing trip out of it.

April 22, 2008 - Earth Day

Before the concert we ate dinner at a place called Montana Ale Works. It was a hip place that served burgers and shtuff like that. Long story short, THEY SAT US DOWN NEXT TO BEN FOLDS. He was eating there with his band. We toasted a "Happy Earth Day" with them and chatted about the drive to Salt Lake (Which they, ironically enough, were going to be making that evening) Afterwards, we took a pic. We posed so that I could Photoshop an Earth floating by our hands, but Ben suggested something else, so that's the one I did. Here it is:

The concert was a blast and he played some new songs that will be on his new album due in September!

Did you touch him? I understand that if you touch even his garments you'll be healed of all that ails you.
I hope you touched him... a lot.

I read the story on Meghans blog...that is so COOL! Yay to you for being a good conversationalist and never shying away from meeting someone.

Um, do I know you personally, or just vicariously through Ben Q's blog? I'm pretty sure I saw you at CPK tonight, but wasn't sure if I could say, "Hey - I'm Melissa, Ben's friend..." Or if you'd just think I was crazy.

Either way, three things.

1. I'm unbelievably jealous about your Ben Fold's encounter. I'd KILL...

2. I hope your dinner was as fabulous as mine - you really can't go wrong with a Tostada Pizza.

3. Sorry if I did the uncomfortable "I know you" stare at CPK. I think I'm a bit off socially - but it all made sense in my head.

Matt, do you remember that episode of Seinfeld where Kramer goes to Baseball fantasy camp, and George is shocked and says Kramer's life IS a fantasy camp and people should pay to live Kramer's life for a week? That's immediately what I thought of when I read this. Crazy charmed life Matt. Not that you don't deserve it, you do.

P.S. LOVE the new graphic of yourself. Very cool.

Matt, I LOVE the caricature. And I also love your charmed life experiences...

Matt! I came across your blog while I was doing some blogstalking. I'm incredibly jealous of your Ben Folds encounter...I saw him in concert with Tori Amos in Seattle a few years ago and it was pretty much the greatest concert ever.

So that's really cool, specially since you played "The Luckiest" for the march at our wedding. But I have to tell you I am almost too overwhelmed by the perfectness of the blue of your background to focus on anything else.
