On February 16th a long-time dream of mine came true:
I MET ROCKAPELLA!
If you don't know who they are, shame on you. Ok, shame is a harsh judgment for something like this. Here is a list of jingles you may have heard:
Coca Cola
Folgers
Lagoon
and perhaps their biggest hit:
Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego
Remember this awesome lady?!
Anyway, In high school I was in a quartet called 4 Cryin' Out Loud (We sounded wretched, but felt like we were on top of the world) and Rockapella has set the standard for our a cappella singing.
To sum it up - Rockapella were my heroes. So when I got to get my picture with them I had to throw it in Photoshop and make it look the way it felt to be in their company.
Here's the original:
And without further ado, I give you...
ROCKAPELLA & Me
I"'m a big nerd - There, I said it!
WOW that feels good.
And to tie this whole story together, I should tell you that in July, I'm going to Comic-Con in Sunny San Diego! Oh yeah, that's right! Nerd-Fest '08
I make sure to look for Carmen There *wink wink nudge* [ZING!]

4 Cryin' Out Loud wasn't bad Matthew...FYI. I remember you singing in Michelle's wedding line and it was fan-freakin-tastic!!
Where did you get to meet them? And what happened to the guy with the braids and the low voice? Did I see him in the pic?
I wish I could have heard your high school quartet! That's awesome! (My best friends in high school had one as well.) Now I know why you can do such tight harmonies.
So when you met them (at the Covey Center, I see) did you happen to mention that YOU were the star of that stage just one month prior?
Hey Matt! It's Ashley Parks. I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon with your darling gal a little while ago...what a treat! It would have been better though if I could have had a visit with you too...and maybe hear some of your mad vocal skills
i am crying cause i am so jealous...
That's awesome you got to meet them! I know 3 guys who would be jealous. 4 cryin out loud wasn't so bad. I loved you guys!
I was on carmen sandiego, so there. But not the cool one, the other one. I met that lady, she was awesome, but there was no rockapella, sadface.

My sister-in-law Britney went to school with this kid who's stage name is "Blue Dragon" - I saw him perform once, and... much respect to the Rockapella beat-boxer, but this kid is better. Check him out http://youtube.com/watch?v=a9JxWF6gXrA
-Thank you to everyone who said FCOL sounded good. Very gracious... We thought so at the time too...
